Natural calamities like flash flood, Super Typhoon and earthquake experienced in Ormoc City, these calamities caused people’s death, and greatly damaged properties and infrastructure in the city.
The Flashflood in Ormoc City happened on November 5, 1991. It was a typhoon so I just stayed at home I was surprised when I heard that there was a flash flood in the city and thousands of people suffered death.

November 8, 2013, Super Typhoon Yolanda, I remembered that in the attacked of the strong wind, my house collapsed, so we went to the Barangay Hall thinking that is the safest place to stay.

July 6, 2017, the magnitude 6.5 earthquake. I was thankful because, the Brgy. Mabato experienced shaking but not as strong as in the city. Despite the calamities we experienced, we are still thankful and bless and proud to say that we survived.
