The local government unit of Ormoc City under the leadership of Mayor Richard Gomez went full force in service to the residents of Brgy. Margen, this city, on Wednesday afternoon, November 23.
With the new government program called “City Hall on Wheels” that aimed to bring the government closer to the people, the city officials and department heads attended the barangay visit to address the issues and concerns of the residents.
In his speech, Mayor Richard Gomez revealed that Brgy. Margen was one of the firsts out of 110 barangays that the local government personally visited. The mayor pointed out that his administration is ready to serve them despite not winning particularly in the said barangay during the last elections.
The different offices of the city hall represented by their department heads and selected staff provided various services to the residents, saving the people from the hassle of travelling far from their home to the government offices.
To mention, the services offered by the “City Hall on Wheels” program are medical and dental services, distribution of seedlings, seeds to farmers and barangay constituents, consultations on water installations, legal matters, land assessment and tax mapping, infrastructure building permits, free birth registration and free registration for new senior citizens, dog vaccination, feeding for children, and receiving of payments on various fees, among all others.
The city’s elective officials including the Sangguniang Panlungsod members Lando Villasencio, Vince Rama, Bennet Pongos, Mayong Rodriguez, Gerardo Penserga, Tommy Serafica, and councilor-in-charge John Eulalio Aparis also gave short messages and vowed to continue giving service to the locals.
